Clogging occurred in the banker silo for coal used as fuel in thermal power station.
In the company K's thermal power station, clogging occurred in the coal bunker silo, causing a trouble in which coal cannot be supplied to the coal feeder in the subsequent process. They facilitated the supply by hammering as occasion arose, but that produced a low effect against the effort. Therefore, they conferred with us about how to establish the smooth system via mechanization.
It was found out that when the discharge stops with a large amount of coal stored in bunker silo, a compression stress was generated at around the discharge opening and the coal was compressed in a bridge form, which caused clogging. We then determined the air knocker series that generated the same vibration as hammering were the most effective in our products. In consideration of the size and shape of bunker silo and the position of hammering, we proposed to install four units of RKV100PA, which is the largest size of air knocker series. At the same time, we proposed the air operation panel HKA5000A that can be controlled by air because the periphery of bunker silo is an explosion-proof area (no flame is permitted), and then delivered it.
After delivery, they are very happy with the result that clogging is prevented in bunker silo and the work efficiency is improved. And then, they decided to install RKV100PA and HKA5000A to all six bunker silos in the thermal power station.
