Air Knocker Selection Guide

When selecting a knocker, the appropriate model and quantity are determined based on the type, shape, and size of the equipment to which the knocker will be attached, as well as the degree of material adhesion and blockage.

For example, when installing a knocker on a conical hopper with a diameter of 1,200 mm and a plate thickness of 3.2 mm, locate intersection point X on the selection chart shown on the right.

Since point X falls within the range for both RKV40 × 2 units and RKV60 × 2 units, select RKV40P × 2 units when the adhesion level is relatively low, or RKV60P × 3 units when stronger adhesion is expected.

《Selection Considerations》

Both conical and pyramidal hoppers become more susceptible to material segregation as their size increases. In addition, dead stock tends to accumulate in the corner sections of pyramidal hoppers.

Under these conditions, better performance can often be achieved by installing multiple knockers of the next smaller size rather than using a single larger knocker.
